It was nice introducing the new APHF volunteers and Team HBV to the Making Strides for Breast Cancer event in Balboa Park on October 15, 2017.
Present were:
Tran Bui, Skaggs Student Pharmacist P1, coming early at 6:30 AM. She noticed that walkers were already there.
Nguyen Vo, APHF Outreach coordinator, texted Binh while she was in the bus on the way to the Walk meeting place.
Binh joined in with the crowd, after taking a few pictures at the Start Line. Along the walk, members of the Moores Cancer Center were seen, with whom Binh engaged conversation.
Kayla Giang, APHF Executive Director, Andrew Liu, IT specialist, Tran Bui, P1, and Team HBV Samuel Deng, Carol Mu and Eric were reconnected with Binh towards mid-walk. All made gloriously to the Final Mark.
As we were standing in line for refreshments, we saw Zachary Schlagel, Manager, Government & Community Affairs at UCSD. Very active on FaceBook, Zach is instrumental in rallying community groups together.
On the return bus, I sat next to Monique, charge nurse from Family Health Centers, Chula Vista Hospital.
It was an excellent walk for the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer cause, that APHF kept coming year after year during October, Breast cancer month.
