On Saturday, July 13, 2019, The Asian Pacific Health Foundation (APHF) participated in the first Community Health Screening at the Central Public Library (330 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101). The staff members of the Central Library graciously provided APHF with free staff parking and a clean and spacious room where attendees came to get their free health screenings and education.
In accordance with the library’s request, APHF did not screen for viral hepatitis. However, with the assistance of both the library and APHF advertisements through the intercom system, our team successfully screened over 38 patients. Program Coordinators: Kevin Lam, Rebecca Kuan, Kevin Lee, and David Lam led the outreach operations. Everyone’s efforts resulted in a smooth and efficient community health outreach.
The staff and volunteers of APHF would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff from Central Library for hosting its first ever community health event with APHF. A special thank you to Monnee Tong for being such a wonderful host and staying for the entirety of the event to help collect feedback/advertise. We look forward to hosting more health events here in the near the future!
