Following the weekly Sunday Mass, APHF provided services at Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church Outreach, located in the heart of San Diego. The outreach took place in one of the parish meeting rooms in the back of the church. Volunteers set up the health screening stations and medical equipment prior to the influx of patients. Patients lined up at the entrance to the outside lot on the side of the church building.
We were joined by Dr. Gish who made his appearance mid-outreach, where he captured pictures of volunteers providing screenings. Additionally, Spanish and Vietnamese interpreters bridged the language barrier between patient and provider.
During a bright and sunny day, there was a significant turnout of patients and volunteers, and we thank the church’s staff for the welcoming and large space.
